Regulations of language courses organized by the Foreign Language Department of the Wroclaw University of Economics

1. The courses organized by SJO are aimed at both working people and learners.
2. In order to participate in the course, it is necessary to write a placement test and/or an interview assessing the level of language proficiency and to pay the course fee by the deadline.
3. Those who already have a language certificate can be exempted from the test.
4. Courses are held on a trimester basis and include 110 class hours (40 +40 +30). Specialized courses can be held under a different system.
5. Classes are held in groups of 6-12 people, twice a week for 2 lessons each.
6. The course fee can be paid for the entire course at once or in 3 installments, with the first installment to be paid before the start of the course and the remaining two installments to be paid on the dates set and stated at the beginning of the course .
7. Students , who attended the course in the previous academic year and pay the fee for the entire course at once, receive a 10% discount.
8. If a student joins the group after the start of the course (as spaces become available) he pays the fee for the hours remaining until the end of the trimester (or course) plus 2 hours.
9. No refunds are given for student absences from classes.
10. If a student has to withdraw from the course due to important health or personal reasons, and the number of classes attended did not exceed 50% in a given trimester (semester), he/she may receive a refund of the fee for the remaining hours, less 20% of the organizational costs.
11. If the student withdraws from the course, and the number of classes taken in the trimester (semester) exceeded 50% – there is no refund of the fee for the remaining classes.
12. Students may receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course if attendance was not less than 75%.
13. Students who have paid for at least 2 trimesters are exempt from paying the trial exam fee (applies to German).
14. Any comments about the courses should be addressed to the course coordinators of each language.
